Are you an inquisitive problem-solver with a passion for driving security outcomes?

Spotlight Retail Group (SRG)—the powerhouse behind Spotlight, Anaconda, and Harris Scarfe—is looking for a proactive Cyber Security Analyst to join our high-performing team.

This is not a "background" role. You will be at the front line in a growing Cyber Security Team, administering and driving outcomes from state-of-the-art security platforms, responding to day-to-day security incidents, and acting as a technical advisor to IT Teams and the wider organisation during a period of significant technological transformation.

This role will suit an enthusiastic, self-starting IT Security Analyst or Engineer:

• Who has ~3 years’ experience in a related cyber security or adjacent/related IT role
• With solid experience using and ideally, administering cyber security platforms, especially platforms like EDR, NDR, SIEM and SOAR
• Who has an aptitude for security technology and can get their head and hands around new and novel technologies
• But none-the-less is an allrounder of sorts and has acquired general security operations and security incident response experience and skills, cloud security exposure, and has knowledge of and exposure to the wider cyber security field and good IT practices.
• who wants to learn and grow professionally, and be an important part of a growing IT Security Team.
• The Mindset: A pragmatic, risk-based approach and an inquisitive desire to explore and understand complex systems.
• Collaborative Spirit: The ability to drive outcomes through others and a strong advocacy for ITIL practices.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the IT Risk and Security Manager, you will become the IT Security Team’s security platforms expert, the engine room for our security operations, the internal incident responder, and technical security advisor, with help and guidance from the wider IT Security Team and our MSSP.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Platform Mastery: Administer, maintain, continuously improve and drive outcomes from our security technology stack.
• Security Operations: Using our security platforms, and in collaboration with our MSSP and internal IT teams, detect, investigate, contain and eradicate threats, and improve operational resilience (root-cause analysis, hardening, response playbooks and automation).
• Technical Security Advisory: Be the "go-to" security consultant for IT projects and business stakeholders.
• Vendor Management: Build constructive relationships with world-class security vendors to ensure we are always at the cutting edge.
