Spotlight Group Holdings (SGH), a $3bn+ privately held Australian parent company, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant (referred to as Group Accountant in the duties) to join our dynamic Group Finance team. What You'll Do: The Impact
As a crucial member of the Group Finance team, you'll be the linchpin in ensuring timely, accurate, and effective financial information delivery to shareholders and stakeholders. This is a hands-on role requiring end-to-end execution, autonomy, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Group Reporting & Consolidation: Coordinate the business-wide financial consolidation reporting, including the monthly submission of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow for key stakeholders.
Cash Flow Management: Prepare and contribute to the detailed and accurate SGH operational cash flow forecast by collaborating with finance teams across all business pillars and Treasury.
Compliance & Policy: Support the Group’s various financial and tax compliance requirements (domestic and international) and actively review and support the application of Group accounting policies.
Analysis & Insights: Prepare, review, and analyse financial data from all three pillars, identifying trends, financial risks, cost-benefits, and areas for operational, compliance, and tax improvement.
Strategic Support: Assist and contribute to the preparation of Group board papers, presentations and financial modelling for strategic decision-making.
Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements for consolidated financial processes, including leveraging technology for automation and streamlining systems.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, cross-functional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, providing essential support and information for financial strategies.
Special Projects: Actively participate in Group tender and due diligence projects as required.
Mentorship & Development: Provide guidance to staff on financial reporting and operations, promoting professional growth, and stay informed on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
What You'll Bring: Your Expertise
You're an initiative-taker with a 'can-do' attitude who can self-motivate and drive outcomes with excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Essential Experience & Capabilities:
Qualification:CA/CPA qualification with 3+ years’ post-qualification experience.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in financial management and operational finance. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial ERP platforms.
Entity Structures: Proven experience working with different legal entity structures (Trusts, Partnerships, Companies, Superannuation Funds).
System Driven: Experience in using and driving technology for automation and streamlining of systems and processes.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to drive engagement with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Mindset: A strong team player who can work autonomously, implement best practices, and role model SGH Values.
